Sony Offers PSP Users free T-Mobile Hotspot Access E-mail

Online Gaming and Internet Access at T-Mobile® HotSpots Now Available to PSP® Owners as Part of Latest PSP® System Firmware Update

Sony Computer Entertainment America (SCEA) today announced a new firmware upgrade for the PSP®(PlayStation®Portable) system, version 3.30, enabling PSP users to play compatible games online, surf the Web, and download podcasts at more than 7,000 T-Mobile® HotSpot locations, including select Starbucks coffee shops, Borders bookstores, Hyatt Hotels, and more than 70 major airports across the United States.

This limited time promotional offer includes six months of Wi-Fi network access to T-Mobile HotSpot starting at the initial log-in on the T-Mobile HotSpot network for PSP owners who have downloaded the firmware update. Once the six-month period is complete, T-Mobile will offer PSP owners an option to purchase a subscription at a special rate. Details of the post offer will be available directly from T-Mobile. PSP owners must log-in to the T-Mobile HotSpot Network by March 28, 2008, to access the six-month promotional period.

Sony PSP Shipments fall by 75% E-mail

Sony have release figures today showing that Sony shipped 1.76 million PSP units from the holiday period October 2006 until December 2006. It may seem alot reading that, but compared to last years holiday period, Sony shipped a massive 6.22 million units.

Although PSP hardware system sales are down from last year, Sony are still continuing to sell alot of games. Software sales are up 24% for this quarter compared to last year, having already sold 21.2 million games.

In response to that massive drop in PSP shipments for the quarter, Sony's CFO, Nobuyuki Oneda said that Sony will not be giving on the platform and repeated past promises that a number of ideas are under consideration for the future of the PSP System.

Firmware v3.10 now available on Network Update E-mail

After Korea recieved there firmware v3.10 update recently, it was pretty obvious an update was imminent for the rest of the world. Now you can download v3.10 from Network update on your PSP. There are some new additions which are as follows:

  • Support for PLAYSTATION Network titles has been expanded.
  • Support for the MPEG-4 AVC format has been added under [Location Free Player]
  • [Dynamic Normalizer] has been added as a feature under [Sound Settings] in [Settings].

Also included in this update is a memory saving mode for the internet browser which can be seen in the browser settings. Japanese PSP owners will also notice a PlayStation Spot icon above P-TV in Network.

Of course if your a hombrew user then please dont update to v3.10 or you will not be able to use homebrew!
For those of you without a wireless internet connection, just hold on until Sony release the update on there website and we will keep you updated on when this becomes available.

Midway announces Hot Brain for PSP E-mail

At the 2007 Midway Gamers' Day, the publisher has announced Hot Brain, a new puzzle game for the PSP and Touchmaster for the DS.
Hot Brain will feature the voice of Fred Willard (Best in Show, Anchorman), and brings brain-training challenges to the PSP. Players will try and achieve red-hot status with hundreds of timed challenges in five challenging categories, including logic, memory, math, language and concentration.

Kuju Brighton have announced that Crush, a new inventive game, is undergoing development for the Playstation Portable, signed with Sega Europe Ltd.

The game is set to be released sometime this year. Crush is a new and exciting game which challenges how players approach games with an intriguing new style of thought provoking gameplay.

Apple have announced there new product due to release in 2007 the iPhone.
Looks absolutely stunning to me. The iPhone is capable of holding 8GB with a fabolous 480x320 display, with 2MP camera, Bluetooth, OS X, iTunes video and music, and dont forget its also a Phone.
