"SOLD OUT", is what you are likely to find when searching retail stores or sites.The resell value of the console is what drives this frenzy. Most of the systems sold were purchased not for personal use but for resale or online auction. With reported resales of systems for thousands of dollars. Reports suggest a sytem might have sold at auction for around $9000.00, but a more common amount being $3000.00 to $4000.00 . With a turn around value like that stores are selling out faster then they can stock PS3's. Sony PS3 is the 2006 gold rush, and minors are coming from the woodworks to stake a claim on a chance to make a profit. Camped out in there tents, waiting for my retail stores for a gold nugget. Sony has done it again. The PS3 is on the top of every gamers holiday wish list. Santas riding a 60gb sleek black sley with blu-ray technology.
GameStop.com last week was offering bundles of Wii's on there store for $695 , the bundle included the basic $249.99 package with Wiimote,Power and AV cords , Nunchuk controller , senser bar , stands and game Wii Sports. A bundle of six games ( Of a price of $49.99 each ) and a extra Wiimote ( price of $39.99) 1 GB Wii Memory SD Card ( Price of $59.99) and last but not lest a 12 month subscription to Game Informer ( at a price of $19.99) these did not last long as soon as it was released their was soon sold out.
Now GameStop.com is trying to do the same with a PS3 on friday 17th October , GameStop.com will be selling a Limited supply of 20GB PS3 bundles for a nice price of only $994.98 including tax and handling, The PS3 bundle will be including the basic bundle of a 20GB PS3 package ( value of $499) A controller , Power cables and AV Blu-Ray Disc and six unamed games ( value of $359.94 ) an extra controller , Resistance: Fall of Man Guide and a 12 months subscription , GameStop.com stat that Resistance is one of the game from the six games you will get with the PS3 Bundle.
Ebay online auctions are fetching $2,500 to $15,000 for a PS3 on launch day.
People have been selling PS3's for a nice figure of $2.500 befor launch day and a nice $15,000 on launch day , with people camping out side shops to get a PS3 in the morning when shops open just to realize that they have already gone to people that preorder them, due to this people are trying to find over ways of getting there hands on Sonys new console PS3.
Where better to look but Ebay from sales and bids going up to $2,500 befor the launch and people paying up to $15,000 for a PS3 on launch day.
A survey taken by Ebay on Friday morning that they found more that 10,000 PS3 system listings , where many of them had been taken down and three PS3 systems won at a nice $15,000 or more , the lowest PS3 won was at a price of $2,250.
With the Wii ( Nintendo's new console) going for a lot less than a PS3 at a price of $1,400 mark thats three time over that retail price of $250.
Sony stated on Tuesday that the new PS3 will not run PS and PS2 games titles properly, To start with, there having sound issues on some titles when played on the PS3 when some will not even play like the older games from like the PS will not run at all. Sankei Shimbun daily said on Tuesday that about 200 PS and PS3 titles are most likely to have issues with the PS3 Sony say that they plan on fixing this issue by a online upgrading system within the PS3.

With Sony trying to stop Ebay sellers selling the new PS3's that are only out in Japan at the moment, They have set some light and told us why not to buy them or is it just a gimmick?Llet me shed some light and give you some more details of what i mean.
With some Ebay sales going over the £900 mark for a 60GB PS3 and a buy it now price of £900 And with Sales of a 20GB PS3 going over £400 with buy it now price of £1220 from U.S buyers. A spokesperson of Sony said that buying a PS3's from abroad , places like Japan is not a good idea , they state that buying PS3's from abroad stops you from playing older European games.
As some listing on Ebay are saying that the PS3 is region free this is not correct the issue you will have from buying from Japan is that you will have to carry on buying imported games from Japan as there not encoded to work with UK titles.
The spokesperson also said that there is some PS3 games region-free, but only about five of these have been made and are available at this moment in time.
So at the end of the day be clear what you are buying because if you buy from Ebay and get a PS3 from aboard you are most likely have to carry on buying games from aboard.
Best buy store will be offering empty handed PS3 buyers a Xbox 360 if best buy is to sell out of PS3's. Best Buy is stating that if customors who waited in line but still did not get a PS3 they will be offering a launch day deal of an Xbox 360 Premium , two games with the thrird game for free, offer is only valid from November 17th - 19th
Sony is said to be shipping 400,000 PS3 consoles with only retailers receiving 10-15 PS3's in each shipment , U.S and Japan are expected to get 2 million consoles shipped by the end of the year.

With gamers queuing over night to get there hands on the new PS3 that was in the shops ready for release the next day , it was going to be obvious that they was going to be sold out , but who would of thought them being sold out within hours of release with only 10,000 machines ready for the release day and all ready sold out is this good news for gamers?

Gamers in the UK will not be able to get there hands on a PS3 untill the Europeon launch in March 2007 , Not forgetting Xbox 360 having a one year head start on sales and while the Nintendo's wii being release in the UK on the 8th December is the PS3 going to be left behide.
Rumors have it that the big reason that there were not enough PS3 consoles on the release date was because of the DVD drive inside the PS3 , the so called Blu-Ray.
So with the PS2 selling over 100 million consoles all over the world since the release in November 2000 is the PS3 going to go the same way , what do you think?

It seems the price jump comes from a HD upgraded box.
The company is said to have accomplished reducing heat and suppressing noise, a standard focused on since the slimline PS2'srelease. One complaint I have read about is the decision on the PS3 controller, i heard its not so great, even to go as faras calling it uncomfortable. The few titles I've glanced at do look pretty sweet though, such as MotoStorm a dirt racing title. I've also always been a Tom Clancy fan and RainbowSix Vegas for Ps3 looks to keep there torch lit brightly.

Kaz Hirai,President and chief executive of Sony Entertainment America, Said on Wednesday they will be sticking to the price tags of $499 and $599 when the PS3 hits the shops on November the 17th in the U.S.A
They said "We are very comfortable with the pricing we have announced and have gotten tremendous support from retailers for that price point," Hirai said on the sidelines of the Dow Jones VentureWire Consumer Technology Conference. "So it is full steam ahead with the pricing of $499 and $599."
Sony is releasing the PS3 in Japan on the 11th of November befor they release it in the U.S. on the 18th November , Hitting the two biggest video game markets out there , they state they will be supplying 2 million units in December for the PS3 and then anther 4 million in March.
"That is the goal we are working toward to deliver and hopefully exceed those numbers," Said Kaz Hirai He also states that the biggest competition for gamers will be next year when the PS3 , Xbox 360 and the new Wii is all in the shops "If you look back at the history of product launches we were never first," Hirai said at the conference. "The real test comes when any other products are available in abundance so the consumer can walk into any retailer and pick up whatever console they want."
