With some Ebay sales going over the £900 mark for a 60GB PS3 and a buy it now price of £900 And with Sales of a 20GB PS3 going over £400 with buy it now price of £1220 from U.S buyers.
A spokesperson of Sony said that buying a PS3's from abroad , places like Japan is not a good idea , they state that buying PS3's from abroad stops you from playing older European games.
As some listing on Ebay are saying that the PS3 is region free this is not correct the issue you will have from buying from Japan is that you will have to carry on buying imported games from Japan as there not encoded to work with UK titles.
The spokesperson also said that there is some PS3 games region-free, but only about five of these have been made and are available at this moment in time.
So at the end of the day be clear what you are buying because if you buy from Ebay and get a PS3 from aboard you are most likely have to carry on buying games from aboard.
