Sony have release figures today showing that Sony shipped 1.76 million PSP units from the holiday period October 2006 until December 2006. It may seem alot reading that, but compared to last years holiday period, Sony shipped a massive 6.22 million units.
Although PSP hardware system sales are down from last year, Sony are still continuing to sell alot of games. Software sales are up 24% for this quarter compared to last year, having already sold 21.2 million games.
In response to that massive drop in PSP shipments for the quarter, Sony's CFO, Nobuyuki Oneda said that Sony will not be giving on the platform and repeated past promises that a number of ideas are under consideration for the future of the PSP System.
